Core/Registry Workgroup

The Core/Registry Workgroup is charged with the following:

Action Plan (from GAS 2005)
  1.  Identify what the Registry needs to issue a Credit Certificate of differing values (up to 15 credits).
  2. Review the Registry steps/associated clock hours, related 10 Core Knowledge Category (CKC), and number of College course Credit (CCC).  Review the fusion areas. Identify what fusion areas the “core” classes would come from and what CC classes would make up the “Core” transfer hours.  Determine values and identify the number of classes and the related credit.
  3. Draft language of how a the host of the virtual program would accept the certificate from the Registry and translate it into class credit that could be transferred and accepted statewide in the CC system.
  4. Resolve the “paying for credit” issue.

Task Identification (from GAS 2006)
  1. Add numbers to the chart of early childhood employees by county, Registry participants by county and CDA’s by county.
  2. Include the Registry step data not just general numbers by county.
  3. Look at the possibility of double crediting of classes both to get to Step 7 on the registry and to also use as a transfer college credit.
  4. Once the first transition is settled (i.e. Step 7), are there other steps that would get to other levels or classes?
  5. Funding for incentives for classes and registry steps, also funding for transcripting costs.
  6. Upon graduation, where do high school students step into the Registry?
