Employer Related Day Care - Policy Changes

Beginning July 1, 2010, all new, license-exempt child care providers are required to attend a Child Care Orientation class within 90 days of being approved by DHS. Providers who have a break in service of one year or more after July 1, 2010, will also be required to take the Orientation class, even if they have taken it before. Classes are to be held in each SDA at least quarterly. Providers who attend within the 90 days of approval are eligible for a $12 per hour stipend.

Beginning October 1, 2010, license-exempt child care providers paid by DHS and their household members age 16 and older must pass a background check before receiving payments or authorization for payments (billing forms). Denied providers will not receive payment from DHS.
