The LEP Program mission is to ensure our customers have meaningful access to all OED’s programs and services, and are able to effectively participate in the same, regardless of their ability to speak, read, write or understand English by:

Assuring, quality language services are available for LEP customers, enabling effective communication between OED and the customer, in person, over the phone, in writing or through electronic media.

Ensuring agency wide consistency in language service delivery
This includes the use of:

bilingual/bicultural staff

foreign language interpretation services

sign language interpretation services

multilingual telecommunication systems

Online Relay Services and TTY

Assistive technology devices

Materials in alternative formats (e.g. audiotape, Braille, enlarged print)

Printed materials in multiple languages

Translation services including those of;

Program materials (i.e.: publications, applications, letters, forms, web pages, etc.)

Program educational materials
