Former workers of Symantec Corporation who were laid off may be eligible for training funds and other benefits through the Trade Act program.

On November 24, 2009 the Department of Labor amended the existing certification for Symantec Corporation, Accounts Payable/Expanse Reporting Team Finance Department (including on-site leased workers from Pro Unlimited, Ic) to include the Symantec Information Technology Division.
Previously, this certification only covered those who have been laid off from the Finance Department.

This program offers reemployment assistance, training, a job search allowance, a relocation allowance, and a health coverage tax credit.  Also, additional unemployment benefits in the form of Trade Readjustment Allowances may be payable to eligible workers in approved training.  Information about the Trade Act program is also available on the internet at www.workinginoregon.org/trade-act or www.doleta.gov/tradeact.

There are deadlines to many of the Trade Act benefits so please be sure to contact a Trade Act Representative at 503-947-3096 or 877-639-7700 to ask questions about how to request the Trade Act program benefits and services.
