Staffing service gives WorkSource Oregon high marks
Bill Frazier, Director of Recruiting for Kelly Services
Bill Frazier, Director of Recruiting for Kelly Services
Bill Frazier is the director of recruiting for Kelly Services, a staffing agency that has been recruiting the quality employees for 60 years.  Kelly Services has several branches, including the newest location in Wilsonville.

Their move to lease space at the Clackamas Community College Wilsonville campus was not a coincidence, a partnership with the college seemed more like a no-brainer.

College students can gain employment and begin career opportunities through Kelly Services.  If it is determined that lack of skills or education prevents them from being hired, Bill is able to refer them to the College counselors for additional services.

"It’s a full circle success story," Bill says.  "Everyone benefits - Clackamas Community College, Clackamas County One Stop, and the employer.”

In addition to the college partnership, Bill also uses the specialized services of WorkSource Oregon Centers.  He has learned about  in-house recruitments and their benefits for Kelly Services.  When Bill attended the Canby Job & Career Fair looking for good candidates, Stephanie Hudson suggested that he speak with Mary Nelson, Oregon City’s One Stop in-house recruitment coordinator.  Bill wasted no time in making that connection.

“When I spoke with Stephanie and Mary, they concentrated on what I needed, not just my current openings.  They set up an initial meeting at the One Stop to determine specific things I was hoping to accomplish.  They asked me questions. Who are your clients?  What areas do you serve?”

Bill also says Mary made the entire process very clear and explained in detail her outreach process for successful results.

Bill feels very welcome at the WorkSource Center in Clackamas County.

“They are willing to step out of the box and encourage my signage and job fair balloons” says Bill.

Mary’s outreach efforts helps to find qualified prescreened job seekers.  A bonus for Bill is also being able to talk with WorkSource Center walk-in job seekers that see he is recruiting on site.  Additionally, these people get pre-screened before meeting with Bill.

“People with appointments were prepared with a resume and were willing to follow up and follow through the entire application process.  At the end of the recruitment, Mary followed up with me.  She stated here is what we have done, has it met your needs?  We were able to do a debrief to determine our next steps,”  Bill says.

He knew it would be a good day when he saw the recruitment sandwich board advertising his event out on the sidewalk.  Bill says he measures the success of his job fairs by the number of people who come to the event and are interested in working for Kelly Services.  He has not been disappointed by the outcomes at the Clackamas County One Stop in Oregon City.

“When difficult orders come from our business clients with large needs, it’s good to know that the One Stop is waiting for my call.  Our Staffing Agency is treated like any other employer,” says Bill.

At a meeting with one of Bill’s large warehouse distribution clients, he spoke about his Oregon City recruitment.  He talked about searching iMatchSkills, promotional efforts before the events, the distribution of flyers, and the dedication of the bilingual staff.  He appreciates very much the staff’s hospitality and tells everyone he can what a wonderful service WorkSource Oregon provides.
