INTEREST-BASED PROBLEM SOLVING FACILITATION
The State Conciliation Service provides facilitation services to assist parties during their interest-based bargaining or problem solving process. A mediator, who is trained as a facilitator, is assigned to work with each group to determine exactly what services will be provided.

Services provided by facilitators include assisting in setting agendas, providing facilitation and/or recording services during the entire bargaining process or a specific problem, providing facilitation and/or recording services to labor-management committees, assisting parties in staying in an interest-based process, working with facilitators within the group to improve their skills, and other needs identified by the parties.

Facilitators will be assigned by the State Conciliator after a joint request by the parties. Effective July 1, 2007, the fee for local government agencies for facilitation services and related travel is $60/hour . State agencies pay an interagency assessment and are not subject to fees for State Conciliation Services.
