Director's Message

Cheryl Myers, Director, Economic and Business Equity

Welcome to the Governor’s Office of Economic & Business Equity where we serve Oregon's disadvantaged, minority-owned, woman-owned and emerging small businesses (D/MWESB). As surrounds our logo, we focus on: Access, Opportunity and Connection elements designed to take your business to the next level. From contracting opportunities, tools/resources and key relationships, our office is oriented toward providing useful and relevant information to assist your business -- be sure to delve into our website for the numberous links that may prove useful.

Under Governor Kitzhaber’s leadership, we continue our strong support of Oregon entrepreneurs, mindful of his belief that Oregon’s “continued economic recovery is dependent on businesses large and small having ample and fair opportunities to be successful.” We recognize small, independent businesses are creating jobs, spearheading entrepreneurialism, and helping provide a bridge to a more properous future for our entire state.

Be sure to 'Save the Date' for the upcoming Governor's Marketplace -- in addition to valuable morning workshops, we have an outstanding keynote luncheon speaker and anticipate 100+ public/private/non-profit organizations will be available to discuss contracting opportunities, technical assistance and access to capital options -- stay tuned for registration details. As always, please let us know how we may provide further assistance.
