Governor Kitzhaber signs bill giving certainty to taxpayers
(Salem, Ore.) — Governor Kitzhaber today signed Senate Bill 301 which provides tax relief to families and college students in 2010. The bill also provides small businesses with the resources they need to grow and create new jobs.
The bill offers Oregonians a state tax deduction of up to $4,000 for college tuition, books and other related expenses. It also would also allow parents to keep their children on their health plans until they reach age 26 without being taxed on the benefit.
The Governor applauds the Legislature for their hard work to move the bill quickly and bring certainty to Oregon taxpayers.
