Welcome to DLCD's Economic Development website
DLCD’s economic development initiative was created by House Bill 2011 (2003 Legislature) to ensure that Oregon´s land use planning program meets the economic development planning needs of the state.

DLCD engages state agencies, local governments and citizens by supporting policy initiatives and local planning projects that promote sustainability, business recruitment, expansion and retention..
Mission Statement
To carry out its economic development mission, DLCD has adopted three service goals. These goals shall be updated and revised as needed in consultation with affected stakeholders:
GOAL 1: Develop, improve and implement program policies and processes with stakeholder input to carry out the directives of the Legislative Assembly, Governor, and the Land Conservation and Development Commission.
GOAL 2: In conjunction with state and local partners, provide training, information, and resources to local governments and citizens regarding economic development planning.
GOAL 3: Provide local project assistance and guidance in coordination with the Community Services Division and the Economic Revitalization Team. Participate in state and local agency projects or initiatives relating to community development, downtown revitalization, and the employment land supply.
