| Vision | |
| The Economic Development Planning Team was created by House Bill 2011 (2003 Legislature) to ensure that Oregon´s land use planning program meets the economic development planning needs of the state. The team engages state agencies, local governments and citizens by supporting policy initiatives and local planning projects that promote sustainability, business recruitment, expansion and retention. | |
| Mission Statement | |
| It is the mission of the Economic Development Planning Team (EDPT) to assist local governments in achieving their economic development planning goals. The EDPT will accomplish its mission by supporting state policy initiatives and local planning projects that promote sustainability, business recruitment, expansion and retention. The EDPT shall carry out its mission in coordination with other state agencies, local governments, citizens and interested parties, including the development community. To carry out this mission the Economic Development Planning Team has adopted three service goals. These goals shall be updated and revised as needed in consultation with affected stakeholders:

| Programs | |
| The Economic Development Planning Team is part of the Planning Services Division at DLCD. The Planning Services Division provides specialized technical assistance and policy consultation to DLCD’s regional representatives serving local governments and citizens. The division includes the Transportation and Growth Management Program. The division also includes specialists dealing with urban development, farm and forest land protection, mineral and aggregate resources, natural resource management, and floodplain management. | |
