Library and Information Science (LIS) Collection

About the Collection

The Library and Information Science Collection contains library science materials that Oregon library staff may borrow in support of their work and professional learning. The collection is funded through Oregon's LSTA grant.

Search the Collection

You can look for items in the State Library catalog.

Borrow Materials

If you would like to borrow an item, use your library's established interlibrary loan process (e.g. OCLC or ALA request form).

If you do not have access to these services or are not currently affiliated with a library, please contact us to discuss alternative options for borrowing the material.

School library staff: If your library does not participate in interlibrary loan, email this information to the document delivery department: full name, school name, complete title information, shipping address, and phone number. Items will be checked out to your library, not to you personally. During the summer, the ILL process changes.

Return Materials

Materials will be delivered via mail or Orbis Cascade Alliance's courier service. You may return items the same way. Or, if you are local, you may put them in the book drop on Winter Street behind the State Library any time or in the book drop on the 1st floor of the building between 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday. We do not charge to deliver LIS Collection materials. You will only incur a cost if you return materials by mail.

Suggest a Title

Contact us if you would like to request that we purchase an item for the LIS Collection. Be sure to include as much information as possible. The title, author, publisher, and ISBN are required at a minimum.
