The Board of Examiners of Nursing Home Administrators (BENHA) is comprised of nine members:
- 3 nursing home administrator members
- 3 public members
- 1 physician member
- 1 pharmacist member
- 1 registered nurse member
Members are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate. Typically, board members serve three-year terms with a maximum of two consecutive terms.
The Board develops and enforces licensing standards for Nursing Home Administrators. Additionally, the Board administers licensing examinations, issues, revokes or suspends licenses, investigates complaints regarding licensees and implements continuing education requirements for licensees.
Vacancies are generally publicized in the board's newsletter and on its website and may be advertised via allied health care and professional agencies and organizations. You may also check the Board Member Roster included herein to see which positions will become vacant in the future.
