| General Information |
|
If you plan on moving to another state then moving back to Oregon in a few years, it is best to leave your license in active status until renewal time. Just make sure that you change your address with the Board. Once renewal time comes around, place your license in inactive status. Call the Board when you return.

| Active License |
|
You will be sent a renewal application approximately 30 days before the 1st of the month of expiration. This form must be filled out and returned with the appropriate fees. By signing the form, you are confirming that you have taken and supplied verification of the required CE. Forms received after the 1st of the month due must include a $25 per week late fee up to a maximum of $250.

| Inactive License |
|
To place your license in an Inactive status, fill out the form and returned with the appropriate fees. You may leave your license in Inactive status indefinitely, but must renew it at every renewal period. *You may not practice or advertise massage while in Inactive status.
You cannot go from Lapsed (Auto-Expired) to Inactive status. Therefore, forms received after the month of expiration must renew as Active.

| Reactivation of Inactive Lic |
|
You must pay the current licensing fee, show proof of current CPR, 25 CE for each renewal period that your license was Inactive. If you've been Inactive for more than 5 years you will need to: show proof of clinical practice in another jurisdiction; or, complete a refresher course in a certified program of at least 50 hours; or, successfully pass the practical exam.

| Lapsed License |
|
Licenses not renewed by the expiration date shall become Lapsed (Auto-Expired). It is illegal to practice or advertise massage with a Lapsed (Auto-Expired) license. A license that has Lapsed for more than 3 years becomes Expired requiring you to apply as a new applicant.

| Continuing Education |
|
25 hours of continuing education are required at renewal time. It must be completed during that license period with the exception of contact hours which may be carried over for one renewal. Continuing education requirements do not apply to a massage therapist's first renewal. For complete information see rule OAR 334-010-0050 and the Continuing Education Submittal Form.
