Alcohol and Drug Abuse - Adult Treatment

GENERAL COMMENTS:

Parental substance abuse greatly increases the likelihood of negative child and family outcomes. Children whose parents abuse drugs or alcohol are almost three times more likely to be abused and four times more likely to be neglected than other children. Drug and alcohol treatment is an essential piece to a comprehensive system of support for families and their children. 1 In Oregon, all treatment programs that are funded by the State and all residential treatment programs, regardless of funding, must be licensed by the Office of Mental Health and Addiction Services. For information about licensing, contact Bob Miller at (503) 945-6185.
