Farm Direct Markets
farmers' market
The Oregon Department of Agriculture's Food Safety Division (FSD) is considering the development of a new section for Division 25 in OAR Chapter 603 to specifically address the principles of food safety at Farmers' Markets.

During the development of the new administrative rules, ODA has asked Oregon Farmers' Market Association (OFMA) to facilitate communication, to build consensus within its membership, and to communicate its ideas and concerns to FSD. By communicating with FSD now, OFMA and other interested stakeholders may alert FSD to the ideas, comments, and concerns surrounding the regulation of food safety in Farmers' Markets before the rule making process begins, giving FSD insight and information during the entire process.
