California firm recalls unwholesome meat products

February 14, 2014
Rancho Feeding Corporation, a Petaluma, Calif. establishment, is recalling approximately 8,742,700 pounds, because it processed diseased and unsound animals and carried out these activities without the benefit or full benefit of federal inspection.  The products were produced Jan. 1, 2013 through Jan. 7, 2014 and shipped to distribution centers and retail establishments in California, Florida, Illinois, Oregon, Texas and Washington. Read more​

Natural Grocers brand Dark Chocolate Almonds

Vitamin Cottage Natural Food Markets, Inc., a Lakewood, Colorado based natural grocery chain, is recalling one lot of six ounce packages of Natural Grocers brand Dark Chocolate Almonds with the Julian packed-on date 13-351 because some bags in this lot may contain dark chocolate covered peanuts which are not declared on the label. People who have an allergy to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The product was distributed to some of Natural Grocers' 75 stores located in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Wyoming in late December, 2013. Read more​

Washington firm recalls chicken noodle soup

December 6, 2013 – StockPot, Inc., an Everett, Wash. establishment, is recalling 1,864 cases (approximately 22,368 pounds) of chicken noodle soup due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen. The Classic Chicken Noodle Soup product is formulated with wheat, a known allergen.  However, the product was released with a Loaded Baked Potato Style Soup side label. 

The products were produced on October 25 and 26, 2013, with a use-by date of February 17 and 18, 2014. The product was shipped to distribution centers in the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Indiana, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Washington.
