Welcome to the Nursery and Christmas Tree Program
nursery staff
The Nursery and Christmas Tree Inspection Program has 17 staff members that provide inspection and certification services to licensed nurseries and Christmas tree growers throughout Oregon. Included in the staff are 13 horticulturists (inspectors) that cover a designated territory within the state (see map link). Staff members can be contacted at the Oregon Department of Agriculture headquarters in Salem, Oregon at 503-986-4644.

Oregon's Noxious Weed Quarantine Amended

Oregon's noxious weed quarantine was amended on February 4, 2010. Changes important to the nursery industry include new rulings for butterfly bush, English ivy, and Scotch broom.
Growers Assisted Inspection Program
The Grower Assisted Inspection Program, or GAIP, was developed to help reduce the risk of nursery plants from being infected with Phytophthora ramorum. GAIP's basic objective is to assist nurseries to self monitor for Phytophthora species and mitigate pathogen problems using appropriate management practices.
