The United States Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, USDA-APHIS, has revised its Phytophthora ramorum advanced notification rule. The previous rule required nurseries in Oregon, Washington, and California shipping host plants of P. ramorum to pre-notify regulatory officials in receiving states. Under the revised rule, only nurseries that have been found positive for P. ramorum within the past three years (since 2010) will be required to comply with advanced notification. More information can be found at USDA’s P. ramorum website. Please feel free to contact the ODA if you have questions concerning the revised rule.
