USDA Revises Quarantine Regulations for P. ramorum

Featured Content

The United States Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, USDA-APHIS, has revised the Phytophthora ramorum quarantine for nurseries in regulated areas.  The previous rule required nurseries in Oregon, Washington, and California to provide official annual inspection/ host sampling as well as pre-notification to regulatory officials in recieving states. Under the revised rule, only nurseries that have been found positive for P. ramorum within the past three years (on or after March 31, 2011) will be required to comply with quarantine regulations. Regulations remain the same for nurseries in quarantine areas. Please feel free to contact the ODA if you have questions concerning the revised rule. For more information, please visit USDA's P. ramorum website.
