Impact on target plant
The adults feed on the shoots and the larvae on the reproductive tissues.

Collection and release
There is little need for further redistribution as the beetle is widespread.

This beetle occurs at most infestations in 17 counties in Oregon.

History and comments
The flower beetle Brachypterolus pulicarius, an adventive species, but was later approved for use in 1992, and has been found at numerous locations in E Oregon. Seed reduction can occur when beetle densities are high.
