Weights and Measures

The Oregon Department of Agriculture will investigate complaints directly or indirectly related to commercial measuring devices in the marketplace including:

  • Unlicensed measuring devices
  • Unlawful scales used in commerce
  • Inaccurate scales used in commerce
  • Inaccurate package labeling
  • Inaccurate motor fuel dispensers
  • Inaccurate LPG dispensers
  • Inaccurate price scanners

The following complaints will be referred to Oregon Department of Justice's (DOJ's) Consumer Protection Program:

  • Complaints involving firewood
  • Complaints involving motor fuel price signs and advertising
