Landscape Stream Protection - Westside
The broader, or landscape, approach ties riparian areas directly to structure-based mangement. As the forests mature, they are managed to accrue bigger trees and complex structure (multiple canopy layers, snags and down wood) in and around aquatic areas.

Over time, these strategies create properly functioning riparian and aquatic conditions and processes.

Go to forest management plans  for a full discussion of management standards for aquatic and riparian areas.
