Forest Resources Planning Program
This is a photo of a western Oregon state forest.
The Forest Resources Planning Program leads strategic planning, provides credible and objective analyses for the Oregon Board of and Department of Forestry, and actively promotes policies that encourage sustainable forest management and further the objectives, policies, and programs of the Forestry Program for Oregon and all Oregon forestlands.

One of the goals of the Oregon Department of Forestry´s Forest Resources Planning program is to assist the Board of Forestry in revising the Forestry Program for Oregon, emphasizing forest sustainability as a Board goal.
The Program also works in cooperation with other state and federal programs in promoting Board of Forestry policies, as well as providing quality information, policy and planning services, and visionary ideas for forestry decision-makers, and developing landscape-scale monitoring tools using the core indicators of sustainability to aid in the implementation of sustainable forestry.
