Western Lane District protects 755,147 acres of Forest Land in western Lane County and parts of Northern Douglas County.  In the Private Forest program, district stewardship foresters administer the Oregon Forest Practice Act working with both industrial and non-industrial forest land owners.  The district's State Forest Program manages 26,000 acres of state owned forest land.

Western Lane District has entered Fire Season as of June 16th, 2015 and a Public Regulated Use Closure as of June 23rd, 2015.

Fire Protection 
The District's fire protection program offers fire prevention, fire detection, pre-suppression activities, and fire suppression. The main headquarters located in Veneta is supported by a subunit office in Florence.
Private Forest Program 
The Private Forest Program has four stewardship foresters in Western Lane. Robin BieseckerDan Menk and Brian Peterson are located in the Veneta office and Jim Hall is located in the Florence office. The stewardship foresters administer Oregon's Forest Practice Act and apply it to both industrial and non industrial private operations .


State Forest 
Western Lane District is one of 9 districts in the state that manage State Forests.
