Submitting
Submit at least 15 days before--with reductions of staff granting of waiver's are more difficult to deliver since the forester's are away from the office more frequently.
Don't rely on a waiver!!!
Two Types of notifications: Booklet Style (user friendly) and Legal Size (for the more frequent "notifier" or for multiple units).
Will you be performing treatment of slash on your unit? Check box 6 even if you think you might burn in the fall. It will save you the time of having to fill out another notification.
Be sure to check out Salem's page regarding Notifications.
Waivers-15 Day waiting Period
A waiver of the 15 day waiting period may be requested, however, during fire season and other unforeseen reasons, waivers cannot always be granted. Notifies are encouraged not to rely on waivers.
Please submit 15 days before you plan on operating.
Receiving and Processing Notifications
Once your completed notification is received, your 15 day waiting period begins. Within in three complete business days after your completed notification has been received, a two page computer print out version will be mailed back to you. This is not the go ahead to start your operation. This signals you that the forester has received your notification and is now reviewing it. At this time you are more than welcome to call the office with questions. The morning after the 15th day you may start your operation. The forester will contact you if he needs any more specific information.
