The Oregon Transportation Commission will hold its regular monthly meeting on Sept. 19 at 9:30 a.m. at the Ashland Elks Lodge, 255 E. Main Street, in Ashland.
Items on the commission agenda include:
A request to approve a Compressed Natural Gas Infrastructure Program to spur clean technology in Oregon and reduce transportation-related emissions;
A continued discussion on policy direction for developing an OTC-selected project list to be funded through Enhance Funds (approximately $42 million);
An informational update on the development of the State Rail Plan;
A request to adopt the Interstate 5, Exit 35 Interchange Area Management Plan as an element of the Oregon Highway Plan; and
A request to amend the 1999 Oregon Highway Plan to update the Oregon 42 Corridor Plan by deleting all projects identified within the Oregon 42 expressway, and adopt the Oregon 42 Expressway Management Plan as a facility plan.
In addition to the regular monthly meeting, the OTC will hold a meeting at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at the same location. This includes a briefing on local projects, followed by visits to local projects. At 3 p.m. commissioners will meet with members of the South Central Oregon Commission on Transportation, and at 4:15 they will meet with members of the Rogue Valley ACT.
Later that evening, commissioners will attend a no-host dinner at 6:30 p.m. at the Peerless Restaurant, 264 4th Street. There are no business items on the dinner agenda.
