SALEM – The ConnectOregon IV Final Review Committee will meet June 13 and 14 in Portland to prioritize the list of multimodal transportation projects to recommend for funding by the Oregon Transportation Commission. The meeting runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Wed., June 13 and Thurs., June 14 at the Holiday Inn – Portland Airport, 8439 NE Columbia Boulevard. Note: public input was collected at previous meetings and while the public is invited to attend, public input will not be accepted at this meeting.

For the past several months, multimodal and regional committees have been reviewing the 64 applications that requested a total of $71,894,160 million from the $40 million ConnectOregon IV program. The Final Review Committee, consisting of 26 volunteers from each of the modal and regional committees, industry groups, and other stakeholders, will evaluate the other committees’ recommendations and prioritize the list for the OTC. The OTC will discuss those recommendations at its July 18 meeting in Salem and make final selections at its Aug. 15-16 meeting in Baker City.

ConnectOregon is a lottery-bond-based initiative first approved by the 2005 Oregon Legislature to invest in air, rail, marine/ports and transit infrastructure. The 2011 Oregon Legislature approved a fourth authorization of $40 million in lottery-backed bonds for the ConnectOregon IV program as part of HB 5036. More than 100 multimodal projects have been approved for funding through the ConnectOregon program.
