BAKER CITY – The Oregon Transportation Commission today approved 38 multimodal projects from around the state for $40 million in funding, provided by the ConnectOregon IV program. The applications were reviewed and ranked by several volunteer committees over the past six months, and in June, a Final Review Committee forwarded its recommendations to the OTC. After a public hearing last month, the OTC approved the list of recommended projects without change.
The ConnectOregon program focuses on improving connections between Oregon highways and all other modes: marine/ports, aviation, public transit, and rail. Dedicated to non-highway projects, ConnectOregon was first approved by the Oregon legislature in 2005 and has funded more than 100 projects around the state.
For ConnectOregon IV, 65 applications, requesting a total of $77,819,159 million, were evaluated by modal committees and regional committees before going to the final review committee. All of the applications on the ODOT ftp site; for more details, visit the website.
