Governor’s Advisory Committee on Motorcycle Safety to meet

The Governor’s Advisory Committee on Motorcycle Safety will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Fri., Jan. 11, at the Oregon Department of Transportation Safety Division office in the Diamond Lake Conference Room, 4040 Fairview Industrial Drive SE in Salem.
 
Agenda items include a discussion about any currently known motorcycle safety related bills that may be proposed during the 2013 legislative session, and a conversation about the BMW motorcycle rally scheduled for this summer at the Oregon State Fairgrounds in Salem. The group will also hear reports from ODOT Transportation Safety Division and any motorcycle organizations present.
 
The Governor appoints members representing all areas of the state to the Governor’s Advisory Committee on Motorcycle Safety. The committee is charged with the responsibility to advise the Governor and the ODOT’s Transportation Safety Division regarding motorcycle safety. The committee reviews, proposes, and makes recommendations concerning motorcycle-related legislation as well as serving as a public forum for motorcyclists and promoting motorcycle safety to the public.
