CORRECTION: TEAM OREGON provides training and issues a certificate that allows DMV to waive motorcycle skills testing but does not administer the skills test. The version below corrects this information from a news release on May 22.
DMV offices in Astoria and Woodburn will stop accepting appointments for motorcycle skills tests by the end of May.
Motorcycle skills test appointments are still available at several other DMV offices through this year.
Instead of testing at DMV offices, people who want to add a motorcycle endorsement to their Oregon driver licenses are encouraged – and in many cases required – to get rider training from TEAM OREGON. They can then present the TEAM OREGON certificate to DMV when applying for the endorsement. DMV waives all or part of the testing requirements with a valid TEAM OREGON certificate. Visit the DMV website to learn more about the endorsement process.
For information about TEAM OREGON, visit www.team-oregon.org.
As a reminder, the Astoria DMV office is closed the week of May 20 for repairs and updates to the interior. Also, all DMV offices, including headquarters, will be closed on Friday, May 24, for a statewide furlough and Monday, May 27, for Memorial Day.
Customer wait times tend to be longer on the days just before and just after weekends and other closures. DMV suggests that people who need to do business at DMV try to visit the office before May 23 or after May 28.
DMV also suggests that you first check www.OregonDMV.com before visiting a field office in person. Customers can complete some DMV business online or find out how to make their visit as efficient as possible.
