Transportation Commission to meet in Astoria May 16

The Oregon Transportation Commission will hold its regular monthly meeting at 10 a.m. on May 16 in River View Rooms 1 and 2 at the Holiday Inn Express, 204 W Marine Drive, in Astoria.
Items on the commission agenda include:
  • An informational presentation about ODOT’s research projects;
  • An informational presentation on the All Road Safety program;
  • A request to amend the 2012 – 2015 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program to add preliminary engineering for a safety improvement project on Oregon 47 at Verboort and Purdin Roads in Washington County;
  • A request to allow ODOT’s Office of Innovative Partnerships to negotiate with Oregon Sports Associates LLC for a potential property exchange in Milwaukie;
  • An update from the Rail and Public Transit Division about notifications regarding the transportation of crude oil in Oregon; and
  • An informational update about the Access Management Oversight Task Force.
As part of their regular meeting, the OTC will conduct a public hearing on the Draft Oregon State Rail Plan. The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10:25 a.m.
The OTC will also meet on Thursday, May 15, at 2:30 p.m. at the same location to meet with members of the Northwest Area Commission on Transportation, and to receive an update on the work of the North Coast Regional Solutions Team.
Members of the Transportation Commission, ODOT staff and members of NWACT will meet at 6 p.m. for a no-host dinner at Bridgewater Bistro, 20 Basin Street, in Astoria. There is no agenda, and no business will be discussed.
Meetings of the OTC are open to the public and time will be available to hear public comments.
