Mission
The mission of Transtoasters is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.
 
Toastmasters International is the leading movement devoted to making effective oral communication a worldwide reality. Through its member clubs, Toastmasters International helps men and women learn the arts of speaking, listening and thinking – vital skills that promote self-actualization, enhance leadership, foster human understanding, and contribute to the betterment of mankind.
 
How can Toastmasters help you 

Interview Workshop - Sept. 10 and 17
Ace that interview! The Transtoasters chapter of Toastmasters International is offering two free lunchtime sessions on interviewing skills. The first session is on Sept. 10 and the second is on Sept. 17, both will take place from 12:05 to 1 p.m. in room 122 of the Transportation Building in Salem. Free refreshments (sandwich makings) will also be provided.
 
How do you prepare for a successful interview?  How do you know what employers are looking for?  How do you make the best impression?  What should you say in an interview?  What should you never say in an interview? How do you manage interview jitters?  Strengthen your interviewing skills in this interactive session. Please feel free to bring your current résumé and/or interview questions that you have encountered in previous interviews for advice and feedback.
 
The facilitator for the sessions is Kim To. Kim is a former ODOT employee in Financial Services and now works as a legislative analyst for the Legislative Fiscal Office. Kim has extensive budgeting, communications, organizational and program development, training, marketing, and administrative experience. Before moving to Oregon, she worked as a trainer for the Education and Organizational Effectiveness Department of a healthcare system in central Virginia, where she designed and taught customer service, emotional intelligence, relationship building, performance management as well as other teambuilding and leadership development classes.
