Mentor-Protégé Program
What are the steps?
  1. The mentor or protégé contacts the ODOT Small Business Programs Manager to set up an informational meeting with the prospective team.
  2. The protégé completes a business assessment provided by a facilitator through the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network and signs an enrollment and confidentiality statement with the SBDC facilitator.
  3. All members of the team (mentor, protégé, SBDC facilitator, and ODOT manager) meet monthly to develop and implement a strategic action plan to assist the protégé in targeted areas identified through the business assessment.
  4. Upon completion of the three strategic action items, the team may elect to continue meeting monthly or quarterly as needed throughout the duration of the protégé’s contract period.
  5. The protégé may reengage the Mentor-Protégé program anywhere in the state, if a prime is ready, willing and able to participate as a mentor.
