The Gresham DMV office will reopen on Monday, Oct. 1, after repairs to fire damage to the building are completed.

The leased office space, located at 2222 E Powell Blvd., received smoke and other damage from a fire on an exterior wall early on the morning of Saturday, Aug. 18. During the closure, Gresham DMV staff members have been assigned to other Portland-area DMV offices.

DMV recommends that Gresham-area customers who need to visit a DMV office in person before Oct. 1 should go to the Gladstone, Sandy or Southeast Portland office.

Any time people need DMV services, DMV recommends that people first visit http://www.oregondmv.com/ to help them prepare for and make their visit as efficient as possible. Many customers can complete transactions online, such as vehicle registration renewal, change of address, and notice of vehicle sale.
