Changes affect locations of passenger car driving tests and motorcycle riding tests
As of March 18, the Lincoln City DMV office will no longer offer passenger vehicle drive testing, and the Newport DMV will no longer offer motorcycle skills testing.
Passenger vehicle drive tests will continue to be available at the Newport DMV. Appointments are required for all drive tests and can be made by calling the drive-test reservation phone number listed on the web page for your local DMV office at
www.OregonDMV.com.
These changes are part of DMV’s ongoing statewide rebalancing of workloads with reduced statewide staff levels amid the lean economic times of the past few years. During the past four years, DMV has reduced its staff numbers about 5 percent in addition to closing for several statewide furlough days each year.
DMV recommends that people first check
www.OregonDMV.com before visiting a field office in person. Customers can complete some DMV business online or find out how to make their visit as efficient as possible.
