DMV warns against online driver-record sellers
September 22, 2004
If a Web site -- even an official-looking one -- claims you can order your Oregon driving record online, it is definitely not a government site, and you might not get what you pay for, DMV officials warn Oregon customers.
Such Web sites are not affiliated with Oregon DMV.
Yet DMV has received a few calls from customers complaining that they had not received their Oregon driving record after ordering it from one of these online companies. Customers believed that they had ordered the record from DMV, when in fact the Web sites were operated by private companies.
In addition, these private Web sites are charging anywhere from $29.95 up to $69.95 for driving record information. Oregonians can get their own record directly from DMV for $1.50. To get your driving record, stop by any DMV office to order it. The record will be mailed to you the next business day. Or visit www.OregonDMV.com to find out how to get your record by mail.
If Oregonians come across a site that offers Oregon driving records, please report the site by sending an email to: OregonDMV@odot.state.or.us.
