DMV is moving its Beaverton field office to a larger location to meet customer needs, and the office will be closed Friday, April 24, and Monday, April 27, during the move.
To make the move, DMV is closing the old location at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 23, and reopening at the new site at 8 a.m. Tuesday, April 28. Beaverton residents who need to do business with DMV from April 24-27 can call DMV at its Portland metro-area phone number, (503) 299-9999, or check OregonDMV.com for the locations of other nearby offices.
The new location, in the Cedar Hills Shopping Center, has more space in both the building and in the parking lot than the old site. The new address is 10280 SW Park Way, Portland.
"We will have more space for parking and for conducting Class C (passenger car) and motorcycle drive tests at the new site," said DMV Field Services Manager Stephanie Miles. "At the old location, both the parking lot and building were often overcrowded, and we were unable to conduct drive tests because of safety concerns."
Business hours at the new location will remain the same: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, except for Wednesdays when the office opens at 9 a.m.
The Beaverton DMV office had been at its SW Allen Boulevard location for more than 20 years. The city's population has grown more than 50 percent since 1990, according to U.S. Census data.
