The Grants Pass DMV will open its new service location at 162 NE Beacon Drive, Suite 127, on March 1, 2010.
The current office will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, to prepare for the move and to install equipment and supplies at the new site. The new office will open to the public at 8 a.m. Monday, March 1.
Office hours will remain the same: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, except Wednesdays when the office is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The new office is larger than the current location with more seating in the lobby and more parking space. It also offers other conveniences not available at the other site.
"The new office has a larger lobby for increased customer access, an express service counter and additional parking space," DMV Field Services Manager Stephanie Miles said. "An added benefit for the community is the self-service counter for vehicle dealers to reduce their waiting time. The new location is also near banking, shopping and restaurants."
DMV encourages people to visit OregonDMV.com to make sure they are prepared before traveling to a DMV office. Many DMV services are available online or by mail.
