We are building the DMV of the future. We are calling this change to the way that we do business the Service Transformation Program (STP). Along with updating our outdated computer systems and business processes to make DMV more efficient, STP will be able to deliver enhanced service capabilities including more online services.
We are dedicated to providing the excellent customer service that you have come to expect from us during this time of change. DMV is committed to making sure that you, our customer, continue to be our focus and that there will be opportunities for you to tell us what you want to see at the DMV of the future.
We are still conducting research to determine what changes will have the most positive impact on our business, but we do know that we will have:
- New point-of-sale equipment for more convenient and accurate transactions;
- A new computer system to replace our current system – which was built in the 1960s; and
- Real-time updates so that other agencies like law enforcement can access information as soon as we put it in your vehicle or driving record.
