Temporary location to open Monday

DMV will operate at the site, located at 1755 NW Ninth St., until a long-term home for the Corvallis office is ready for use.

The temporary office's hours of business will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. However, Friday, Oct. 16, is the first of 10 mandatory state office closures, or unpaid "furlough" days, scheduled over the next two years. DMV is one of the state agencies that will observe the 10 statewide unpaid closures.

All five DMV staff members from the former Corvallis office will be assigned to the temporary office. The former office closed Sept. 18 as the state negotiated with area landlords for a new long-term lease.

The temporary office will offer all the same services as the old location except for drive tests. Passenger vehicle drive tests may be added in November if a suitable route is identified that meets Oregon standards. The temporary site will not offer drive tests for commercial vehicles or motorcycle endorsements. DMV offices can accept only cash or checks, and the Corvallis temporary office will not have an ATM.
