Heavy Trailer Definition
Heavy trailers do not include travel trailers, fixed loads, or special use trailers. Heavy trailers are other trailers with loaded weight over 8,000 pounds. Loaded weight is the weight when the trailer is fully loaded.  ORS 801.330.

License Plates
The standard license plate issued for heavy trailers is yellow with blue letters and numbers.  It must be displayed on the rear of the trailer.

Pulling a Heavy Trailer
A heavy trailer may only be pulled by a vehicle registered by weight.
