Governor nominates Pat Egan to chair Oregon Transportation Commission

Governor John Kitzhaber has nominated Pat Egan to chair the Oregon Transportation Commission.  Egan, who currently serves as a Vice President at PacifiCorp, has significant experience in transportation, having worked for the Port of Portland and as transportation policy advisor in Governor Kitzhaber’s second term in office.  He also served as Governor Kulongoski’s chief of staff, and as a member of Kulongoski’s Transportation Vision Committee Egan helped develop the proposal that became the 2009 Jobs and Transportation Act.
Egan’s nomination is subject to confirmation by the Oregon Senate.  Egan is nominated to take the position vacated when Gail Achterman stepped down in August due to health reasons.
