Pavement Markings in Oregon
Overview

The Oregon Department Of Transportation is dedicated to having acceptable pavement markings on all the highways it is responsible for.  We strive for visible markings 24/7/365.  Due to budget constraints this is a complicated task.  In some cases this means using a durable marking designed to last five to seven years, and in other cases it means using a waterborne paint designed to last six months to a year, maybe longer in some locations.  We are developing a Master Plan for each of our five Regions that is designed to help out highway designers make the most of the types of products available for this task.
