Install Trns.port Estimator


For ODOT employee: To install Trns·port Estimator on your PC, contact your local Help Desk and request a "Trns.port Estimator" installation. Also request an Estimator user ID, per the Trns.port Estimator User section on this page.
 
For non-ODOT consultants and contractors: If your office already has an Estimator license, contact your office’s Estimator System Administrator. Otherwise, see the Trns.port Software Vendor section on this page.

Training

 
Users of Trns·port Estimator must have user training before submitting projects to ODOT. For training, contact John Riedl, OPL Estimating, at 503-986-3886. For Trns·port Estimator installation questions, contact InfoTech at 352-381-4400.

Sharing Estimator Files

 
If you need to share Estimator files between firms or agencies, you must include tell Estimator who is permitted to share the information in the file. Please follow these instructions to enable Estimator file sharing:

Project Federal Aid Number

 
Federal funded projects require "Federal Aid" numbers.  To obtain a Federal Aid number, click on this link and follow the instructions on that page.
It usually takes one to two workdays to complete.

Estimator Login

 
Users on non-ODOT computers
 
No ODOT user ID is required.  Contact your office’s Estimator System Administrator for user ID and password.
 
 
Users on ODOT computers
 
Consultants and Local Agencies that do not want to purchase the Trns·port Estimator software can use ODOT's facilities and computers to prepare project bid schedules and estimates.  To use ODOT's facilities and computers:
 
1.  Obtain and/or register an Estimator user ID by using the link below.

Note:  Non-ODOT users should expect a one week processing time for set up and registration of new user ID for system and Estimator access.  ODOT users should expect a one day processing time for registering user ID to Estimator.
2.  Contact your Region Local Government Liaison for scheduling access to PCs.

Bid History Catalogs

 
Trns·port Estimator (Estimator) is a stand alone software package specifically designed for estimating the cost of highway construction projects.  Data for producing estimates is stored in one or more catalogs that include item related code tables and historical item price data. The following catalogs are made available for use in the Estimator module. These files are updated quarterly and are only useful when downloaded and used in conjunction with Estimator.

Project Skeleton Files

 
When preparing an estimate in Estimator, a project skeleton file can be imported as the initial step in creating an estimate. These files containing general project information and standard item categories to which items, quantities, and cost estimates can be added. From the links below, project skeleton files can be accessed, downloaded to you PC, and imported into Estimator.
