Opening Database Files
The Problem
Tired
Why doesn't this work?

When customers click a hyperlink to a database file, a dialog box will typically open to give you the option to "Open" or "Save" the selected file.  If you select "Open" the web browser attempts to launch the appropriate program.  In this case, the database file would require the Microsoft® Access program.

While some customers can open the files from their web browser with no problems, other customers may experience difficulty.  Popup windows with error messages often appear when trying to launch the database using a web based hyperlink.  This has been a long term problem with many Microsoft® applications, concerning permissions.

To remedy this problem, see the solution below.

The Solution

The prefered method of correcting this problem is to simply download the database file to your local hard dirve, then open the saved file using your Microsoft® Acess program.
