Annual Performance Measures
Welcome to the Geo-Environmental Section, Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT). ODOT is committed to the protection and preservation of our state's unique environment and to the safety of our highway system. Our staff of geotechnical engineers, hydraulic engineers, historians, archaeologists, environmental program managers, water quality specialists, biologists, geologists, hazardous materials specialists, erosion control specialists, drafters, GIS specialists, and administrative personnel study and mitigate the effects of transportation projects. The Geo-Environmental Section is responsible for coordinating environmental regulatory compliance for all transportation improvement programs in the state which use federal funds. The section is also responsible for statewide practices, standards, training, expertise, and asset management for geology, geotechnical, and environmental disciplines within ODOT.
We protect the public and are stewards of the public interest for a variety of natural and cultural resources. We bridge the natural resources and civil engineering disciplines. We build dynamic partnerships for making vital decisions to serve the public and protect our resources.
