Willamette River Bridge
Project Description
The I-5: Willamette River Bridge (Lane County), Bundle 220, project is being delivered using the CM/GC alternative contracting method.
 
This project proposes to replace the existing (decommissioned) 1,800-foot long bridge on I-5 over the Willamette River in Lane County.  A 1,993-foot long detour bridge over the Willamette River was constructed in 2003/2004 just east (upstream) of the existing bridge, after which the existing bridge was decommissioned.  In addition to crossing the Willamette River, the decommissioned bridge and the detour bridge both cross pedestrian paths on both sides of the river, Franklin Boulevard, two Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) tracks, and the NB I-5 to WB Franklin Boulevard off-ramp.  Approximately 600 feet north of the decommissioned bridge is an existing 100-foot long bridge over the Canoe Canal that will also be replaced as part of this project. 
 
The new bridge will be constructed at the same location as the existing bridge, but will require roadway alignment adjustments in the immediate project area as the bridge design dictates.  The new bridge will be designed to eventually carry up to six (6) lanes of traffic to accommodate the 20-year design for future traffic needs.

On June 17, 2008. ODOT awarded the CM/GC Contract for Pre-construction Phase Services on the I-5: Willamette River Bridge project to:

Contract Amount: $2,291,299.00
