Oregon's Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Set to Grow
West Coast Green Highway will add stations
In September 2010, ODOT announced it received $700,000 in federal stimulus funds to install up to eight EV fast-charging stations in southern Oregon, from Eugene to Ashland. The initiative is meant to complement existing EV charging installations underway and to electrify an important leg of the West Coast Green Highway to the California border.

Federal funds from TIGER II will add stations
In October 2010, ODOT also announced that it received an additional $2 million from the TIGER II program of the U.S. Department of Transportation for up to 20 EV fast-charging stations. Both of these project will be pursued as public/private partnerships the ODOT’s Office on Innovative Partnerships. A competitive procurement process is underway and project delivery partners will be selected early in 2011. Construction should begin in 2012.
