Road User Fee Task Force
News Release
Road User Fee Task Force to meet Nov. 21
The Oregon Road User Fee Task Force will meet Friday, Nov. 21, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Room 122 of the Transportation Building, 355 Capitol Street N.E., in Salem.

Agenda items include a status report on actions taken by the 2003 Legislative Assembly and an update on the mileage fee concept. The task force also will discuss preparation of an implementation plan to determine configuration of the pilot test program. An opportunity for public comment will be available at 10:15 a.m.

The Oregon Legislature established the Task Force in the 2001 legislative session to examine every possible revenue option for transportation funding. As fuel efficiency increases and new fuel sources become more widespread, such as fuel cells and hybrid electric vehicles, the funds available to construct and maintain roads and bridges is projected to decrease. The mission of the Task Force is to recommend an alternative funding system to the Legislature and sponsor a pilot program to determine feasibility and public acceptance for the most promising revenue options.

Accommodations will be provided to persons with disabilities. Alternate formats available upon request. If a sign language interpreter is needed, please call Kim Jordan at (503) 986-3913 at least 48 hours prior to the meeting.
