Program Overview

The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) must balance the need to provide efficient, safe and timely travel throughout the state, with the ability to allow access to an individual destination.
 
ODOT has developed a guideline to assist it in responding to land use and development proposals. It may also help you understand the complexities of the land use process and highway access management.
 
A traffic study may be required to determine how to best accommodate the transportation needs of a changed land use or new development.
