Paving Cascade Locks to Hood River
In 2016* ODOT will repave and replace center concrete barriers on I-84 from Cascade Locks to Hood River. The project will result in a smoother ride, increased safety and extend the life of the highway.
Here is what that means to your summertime travel plans! Travelers should be aware of potential traffic impacts and plan their trips accordingly. Visit TripCheck.com for current traffic conditions or sign up for construction update email around the region.

What? This project replaced 12-miles of center concrete barriers on I-84 from Cascade Locks (milepost 46) to Hood River (milepost 64) between July and November 2015, before paving in summer 2016. The new barriers were stained brown to blend in with the scenery (and to meet the National Scenic Area standards), as well as being a few inches taller than the old barrier.
